College-Level Achievement at ACS
Students Demonstrate Excellence Through CLEP Success
At American Christian School, students are encouraged to pursue academic excellence with confidence, purpose, and a Christ-centered foundation. One of the many ways ACS prepares students for the future is by providing opportunities to experience college-level academics while still in high school and this year’s English CLEP exam results are a strong reflection of that commitment.

CLEP (College-Level Examination Program) exams allow students to demonstrate mastery of college-level material and earn college credit before graduation. These nationally recognized platforms measure knowledge equivalent to a first-year college course, making student success on these assessments a significant academic achievement.
This past spring, ACS students have already achieved impressive results in English CLEP testing as listed below.
Analyzing & Interpreting Literature: 33% of ACS high school Juniors obtained 3 college credits, with the remaining students narrowly missing the qualifying score.
College Composition Modular: 10 out of 12 Seniors obtained 3 college credits
College Composition with Essay: 1 out of 1 Senior obtained 3 college credits
To receive a qualifying score, students must earn at least a 50; the benchmark recognized as equivalent to successful completion of a first-year college course. ACS students not only met that standard, but several exceeded it significantly, earning scores of:
52, 53, 54, 54, 55, 62, 68, 68, 69, and 72
These results reflect years of accumulated knowledge, strong instruction, disciplined study habits, and the dedication of both students and teachers. They also reinforce ACS’s growing commitment to helping students graduate with a strong academic advantage. One student began the school year with the commitment to take advantage of these opportunities on the recommendation of his older brother, a member of the ACS Class of 2024. “It will save you so much time and work to get that off of your freshman year course load.”

As part of that mission, ACS continues expanding opportunities for students to earn college credit while still in high school through preparation for CLEP testing and Dual Enrollment partnerships. By way of these programs, students are challenged to stretch themselves academically, gain valuable college experience, and potentially reduce future college costs; all while learning within a supportive Christian environment.
At ACS, we believe Christian education should prepare students not only spiritually, but academically as well. Achievements like these demonstrate that our students are graduating equipped for college, careers, and a life lived for Christ.
