Why ACS? Parents Speak.

The Filosa family joined ACS in the Fall of 2019, just after the world had been turned upside due to Covid-19. In their search for a school that could provide strong academic during this time, they discovered American Christian School and have remained here every since. Katie and her husband Jon will tell you that the family like environment and open lines of communication have made all the difference for them, and their two children, Jon Jr. (JJ) and Annabelle.

Parents like Katie and Jon continue to tell us that ACS is making a difference in their child’s life because of the continued partnership we have established with our parents.

A partnership with parents is essential to the success and growth of American Christian School and here’s why:

  1. Shared Values and Beliefs: As a Christian school, ACS upholds certain values and beliefs that are important to both the school and parents. Collaborating with parents fosters a unified approach to education, ensuring that the school’s teachings align with the values and beliefs instilled in the students at home.
  2. Reinforcing Religious Education: A strong partnership with parents enables the school to reinforce religious education and spiritual development. When parents actively participate in their child’s religious upbringing and support the teachings at school, it strengthens the child’s understanding and commitment to their faith.
  3. Enhanced Learning Environment: Parental involvement can significantly impact the overall learning environment. When parents take an active interest in their child’s education, students are more likely to feel supported and motivated to excel academically and spiritually.
  4. Communication and Feedback: A strong partnership between the school and parents facilitates open communication channels. Regular feedback and discussions about a child’s progress can lead to better insights into the student’s strengths, weaknesses, and areas of interest, allowing for personalized approaches to learning.
  5. Parental Involvement Benefits: Research consistently shows that parental involvement in education leads to better academic performance, improved behavior, and higher attendance rates among students. When parents actively participate in their child’s education, it sets a positive example and encourages the child to value and prioritize their schooling.
  6. Community Building: A partnership with parents fosters a sense of community within the school. Events, activities, and volunteer opportunities that involve parents create a more inclusive and welcoming atmosphere, benefitting both the students and the parents themselves.

Overall, a partnership with parents is crucial for American Christian School to fulfill its mission of providing a high-quality Christian education that nurtures the whole child—academically, spiritually, and socially. It creates a synergistic relationship where the school and parents work together to shape the future of the students, helping them become well-rounded individuals with a strong foundation in faith and knowledge.
